Harland Works Repair Café in Sheffield happens monthly on a Sunday afternoon. Volunteer ‘fixers’ give their time to undertake simple repair tasks on things such as clothes, bikes, electrical items. This runs alongside an actual café in a relaxed setting.

Sessions in Autumn 2023 saw clock repairs, knives and garden tools sharpened, many small domestic electrical items brought back to use and some sewing repairs undertaken. Some items brought in could not be successfully repaired on the day but the problem was diagnosed and clients were signposted to where they could get a replacement part – and in some cases these were brought into a subsequent event for completion.
