About South Yorkshire Climate Alliance
We are an alliance of local organisations and individuals who are pressing for fair and effective action to tackle the climate and nature emergencies
Our Vision
We want a thriving, successful climate movement in South Yorkshire, helping to shape a region where communities, public bodies, organisations, businesses, and individuals make the necessary changes to combat the effects of the climate and nature emergencies, recognising the need for adaptation as well as mitigation.
Our Mission
We aim to:
- Increase understanding of the causes and effects of climate change and biodiversity loss and just solutions to these issues.
- Facilitate growth in the climate change and nature recovery movements in South Yorkshire and support a network for organisations to collaborate and promote engagement and action.
- Promote the adoption and implementation of effective measures to address the climate and nature emergencies by councils and others.
Our Values
We believe that working together is more powerful than working alone. All allies within South Yorkshire Climate Alliance are expected to treat each other with respect, engaging openly with each other towards the shared vision.
