Sheffield’s Local Elections: Climate & Nature Hustings
In partnership with South Yorkshire Climate Alliance, Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust & Hope for the Future
In May 2023 people across Sheffield will be able to vote in the May 2023 local elections. This is an opportunity for you to vote for a candidate who puts climate and nature at the heart of their agenda. Sheffield City Council declared a climate emergency in 2019 and an ecological emergency in 2021, however, serious questions remain.
This online event takes the form of a Hustings, which gives you the opportunity to meet the candidates running in the local elections to ask how, if elected, they will prioritise the issue of climate change and the environment. Your questions will be asked alongside those from local community groups and organisations across the city to ensure we are hearing from as many people as possible.
There will be a focus on important climate and nature issues for our city such as sustainable transport, warmer homes, green jobs and energy and climate impacts such as flooding.
The event is run by locally-based climate and nature charities, Sheffield and Rotherham Wildlife Trust, Hope for the Future and South Yorkshire Climate Alliance.
