SCA Monthly Meeting – The Sheffield Plan
Our January monthly meeting will be looking at the Draft Sheffield Plan, and how to respond.
The long-awaited “Draft Sheffield Plan” will be open for Public Consultation from 9 Jan – 20 Feb 2023. This will affect siting and standards for new development for the next 15 years.

The Plan earmarks land for business use and encourages the development of “brownfield” sites. There is emphasis on 20-minute neighbourhoods, where most journeys can be made on foot or cycle. Copies of the Plan will be available for inspection in libraries as well as online.
The big question is – will this Plan enable Sheffield to reach net zero? Could and should it do better?
SCA’s Planning Group are looking at how to respond, especially on energy generation, standards for reducing emissions, improving biodiversity, and adaptation to severe weather events.
Join us on 24th January as we will look at the plan, discuss our response, and welcome everyone to share your thoughts and ideas with us.
The meeting will be held on Zoom.
Please register on Eventbrite so we have an idea of numbers.
The meeting will be open from 6.30pm for chat and arrival, and the session starts at 7pm.
