How can women in trade unions fight for climate justice?
This meeting will consider why the climate emergency is a Trade Union issue. Women and girls are often those who are most impacted by climate change, it is crucial that women are at the centre of fighting for the change that is needed to tackle the crisis. Climate justice is not possible without social justice so we will discuss campaigns for a just transition to a low carbon and a fair economy, to reduce emissions, while giving us decent jobs, better transport, warmer homes, clean air, healthier food and better public services. We will also learn more about the new Climate Jobs pamphlet produced by Campaign against Climate Change and a Feminist Green New Deal from trade unionists active in the climate movement. There will be plenty of time for discussion about how activists in trade unions and workers can act to help protect our planet.
