2023 – COP 28 climate summit – organising action/events meeting:

With December fast approaching, Climate Justice Coalition South Yorkshire would like to invite all climate groups, trade unionist branches and local campaign groups to an initial meeting to discuss planning locally around the COP28.

The 2023 COP climate summit in December is in the United Arab Emirates–one of the world’s largest oil producers. After last year’s summit concluded without any concrete action to phase-out fossil fuels, despite the best efforts of campaigners from around the world we are once again faced with the repeated failures of COP summits to directly confront the industry driving the climate crisis alternative avenues toward achieving ambitious climate action–particularly as COP28 in the UAE appears set to deliver more of the same.

The meeting will be in the downstairs room next to the main entrance of the building – at the bottom end of Chapel Walk.
